Snowmen on the doorstep
7.8.20
It’s 1945 and World war ll has perished. I saw many things that no man can ever un-see. My best friend Louie died. He had 3 kids. A daughter and two sons. We fought for Europe for 3 years. All my good friends died. I am now 35 years old. I had a dog called Spot. He was a messenger. He disappeared for 3 months. When he came back a china flag was smelted into his fur. He had lost one leg and he had no teeth. That was the day when China had ambushed us and Louie died. I made it out by covering myself in his blood and staying still. 1950, it’s now christmas and the mayor has declared that they will be making a special memorial for soldiers on christmas eve. It opens at midnight. I went with my wife and when we arrived my heart broke. There were thousands and thousands of snowmen and they each represented different soldiers who fought in the war. I stayed there for 6 hours staring at Louie's snowman. It looked just like him in a special kind of way. Then the sun came up. Louie melted and disappeared just like in 1945. He was once again gone…
